Born in 1847, Edison grew up curious about the world and pushed himself to learn as much as possible . He was 23 years old when the Union began gathering intelligent individuals to join a think tank that would evolve into the Department of Theoretical Affairs. He is one of the first to arrive at the Avis facility in 1870 and begins working to design methods to apply practical application to gravicite. Edison is responsible for the development of the gyroscopic system that would become the standard of gravicite designs. He is granted patents to the gyro design and begins to accrue a large sum of money. In 1871, Edison disappears from Avis with 5 tons of gravicite and all the money he had built up from his patents. He vanished until 1873 when rumors of strange things happening in the Pacific Northwest. Edison returned to the scene with a declaration of sovereignty of the new nation of Cascadia. His declaration is backed by his creation of technologies incorporating gravicite with new gyro designs using James Maxwell’s equations of electromagnetism and Zenobe Gramme’s redesign of the Pacinotti dynamo. Edison develops Cascadia into a thriving nation that offers technical developments to various nations for a price. He maintained closed borders and wouldn’t allow access without special permission. His secretive personality only added to the rumors and mystique that grew around Cascadia. To this day, few have ever gained access to Cascadia and fewer have seen Edison.
